About Me

Born and raised in Aberdeen I was introduced to football before golf. I played football from an early age until I realised I would never make it as a professional. I started playing golf at the age of 14. Leaving Harlaw academy at the age of 16 I gained an apprenticeship at Newmachar golf club as a green keeper. After becoming qualified at Newmachar I gained experience in the field of golf construction working for a company called Team Niblick. This was a year of golf course construction.

In 2001 I joined the green keeping staff at Royal Aberdeen golf club where I spent 5 ½ years were spent as an assistant. During this period I reduced my handicap to plus 1 playing at Nigg Bay Golf Club and a becoming a member of the north east district side. In 2004 I won the Douglas Phillips Trophy, the Evening Express Champions of Champions and was leading amateur at the Grampian International Freight Northern Open.

Due to this I then decided to make it as a professional golfer. After sending numerous letters to companies asking for sponsorship I was delighted when some of them agreed to help.

I am currently representing The Kings Links Golf Centre on the Tartan Tour.
